Foundation CNOS-FAP Brings Expertise in Vocational Training to Africa through the CircuWasteVETAfrica Project

The Fondation CNOS-FAP ETS, a leading institution in Vocational Education and Training (VET) in Italy, is impacting beyond Europe as a key partner of the CircuWasteVETAfrica project.

Known for coordinating 62 VET centres across Italy and promoting the Salesian educational approach inspired by Don Bosco, CNOS-FAP plays an important role in strengthening skills systems through its deep expertise in Training of Trainers (ToT), curriculum development, and international cooperation.

CNOS-FAP is leading the co-design of the CIRCUWASTE ToT Programme, bringing its experience to support African VET trainers to integrate green and circular economy skills into their teaching curricula. The organisation is also developing a Pedagogical Upskilling module, tailored to meet the needs of VET trainers in Angola, Ghana, São Tomé and Namibia.

Backed by decades of work in continuous professional development, CNOS-FAP ensures quality education through both in-person training and its robust online platform of transversal skills courses. Its active involvement in Erasmus+ programmes (KA1, KA2, KA3), and long-standing partnerships with networks such as Don Bosco International, DBTech Europe, and Don Bosco Tech Africa further strengthen its position as a major player in global VET initiatives.

The CNOS-FAP team is represented by Ivan Toscano, International Program Manager, who brings over 15 years of experience in VET policy, development cooperation, and managing EU programmes in Europe and Africa. His work focuses on skills development, labour market integration, and system-level VET impact.

Benedetta Cassarini, Senior Project Coordinator, offers a strong background in international development with on-the-ground experience in Senegal, Tanzania, and Ethiopia. Her expertise lies in building inclusive VET platforms and employment-focused services in underserved regions.

With their efforts in the project, CNOS-FAP is helping shape a greener, more inclusive future for Technical and Vocational Education and Training in Africa.
