Meet our partner from Angola

VIS International Volunteering for Development, through its Angola office, is taking the lead in driving forward green skills and inclusive learning. The non-profit organisation has joined the network of 7 other partners from Europe and Africa in the CircuwasteVETAfrica project. The Erasmus+ project, funded by the European Commission, is promoting circular economy and green waste management education among youth and women in Namibia, Angola, Ghana, and São Tomé.

The organisation is an NGO that promotes capacity building through vocational training activities in close collaboration with public and private schools. They focus on child protection, youth reintegration for local institutions and organisations. They are involved in several European Commission-funded projects that support vulnerable children and youth, providing them with opportunities for education and skills training.

Their role in the project involves piloting the programme for youth, assess content and teaching methodologies for continuous improvement, guarantee open-source access to all learning materials, oversee the enrolment of 150 young learners, ensuring gender balance and social inclusion. They will also work closely with Swakopmund Municipality, Namibia to map relevant stakeholders in Angola and analyse skill needs and existing gaps.

To carry out these tasks, the organisation will be represented by Sergio Pitocco, an expert with experience from multi-collaboration and innovative service development in Angola’s social, health, and vocational systems, Riccardo Giannotta, VIS Head of Programs and project coordinator, Valery Ivanka Dante.
