CWVA promotes circular education among students in Angola, SaoTome and Ghana

The CircuWasteVETAfrica project has taken its circular economy education activities to young learners in Ghana, São Tomé, and Angola.

Mundus, a partner of the project, coordinated the online activities, guiding the students from Budo Budo Professional Center, Sao Tome, and Ramseyer Technical Institute, Ghana, on how to make videos and speak about recycling as students and how they can contribute to these activities in their communities.

Seven students from the Ramseyer Technical Institute, Ghana, and four students from the Budo Budo Professional Center, Sao Tome, submitted their videos, speaking on what they understand by circular economy, telling stories about their recycled activities in school.

A fashion student in her video spoke against the increasing pollution caused by imported unused clothing materials in Ghana and how she can reduce this through recycling fabrics into other useful items, such as bags, doormats, and teddy bears.

The same exercise is set to be carried out among students in Angola.

This exercise will not only check the students’ understanding of recycling and circular practices, but will also help them to become advocates for environmental sustainability within their schools and communities.
